Wondering why you're "supposed" to wear green on St Patrick's Day? Apparently it's all to do with leprechauns.
An adapted American tradition that started around the 1700's, the thought is that wearing green on St Patrick's Day makes you invisible to leprechauns and fairy creatures who would otherwise pinch and play jokes on you. People began pinching others for not wearing green as a reminder that leprechauns and other invisible creatures would sneak up on them and pinch them when they least expected.
