Three episodes in and the drama just keeps on coming. Here's my recap and what I really thought of episode three.
The adventure continues in episode three with me hosting a morning tea for AthenaX and Lisa to reflect on Victoria’s white lunch. No morning tea is complete without something delicious to nibble on - and I made a batch of my famous Coconut Bread for the occasion (recipe here).
I was relieved that Lisa was similarly disappointed in Athena’s treatment of Matty and felt that we needed to convince her to apologise. Matty is an amazing person and as she says herself, regardless of what Athena thinks of her appearance (which by the way is smokin’!) she is anything but fake, shallow or superficial.
When AthenaX arrived I was surprised to hear that she felt that she was being attacked at the table, when it was clear that she had overstepped the mark with Matty. AthenaX’s spirituality is a personal journey for her and I feel it should perhaps stay that way!
I think she is an incredibly intelligent woman, who thinks quite deeply of many “levels” (and many astral planes). What I’m not sure about is her sense of humour. AthenaX’s “jokes” often land in quite offensive territory – I’m just surprised that she doesn’t sense that.
At the end of the morning tea I honestly felt that we managed to get through to AthenaX that, in order to move forward, it is essential to be conscious of other people’s feelings, to apologise and move on.
We then head to Melissa’s house where she is checking out some scenes with the director of her new feature horror film “Boar” about a killer pig in the Aussie bush. I love seeing Melissa in her element, whether it be singing or acting, as she is an absolute professional, and she really nails her part in this feisty role. I am so looking forward to finally seeing the movie when it premieres later this year.
Krissy arrives at Victoria’s home in Bondi and they call her private investigator. I think Krissy is the perfect person to explore this with Victoria as she’s so caring, and like me, her family are the most important people in her world. I really hope Victoria finds the answers and closure she needs.
AthenaX meets up with respected art gallery owner Tim Olsen to explore possibilities for her artwork. She explains the subject of her work is inspired by her regressions and past lives, and looks to Tim for the opportunity she’s been hoping for.
AthenaX is very convincing and in her modest opinion believes that if Tim doesn’t show her work it will be a huge loss for humanity. Once she explained that her art was an interpretation of her astral travelling, seeing things from other dimensions and 100 years ahead of its time, there was little chance of her taking no for an answer!
But, in all seriousness; I have known Tim for a very long time and respect his eye for upcoming talent, so I was pleased that he gave AthenaX the opportunity to exhibit in his esteemed gallery.
Having only recently returned to Sydney from London, I have been house hunting and Krissy was kind enough to come with me to inspect some properties. Buying in the Sydney market has become increasingly difficult, and very expensive! I’m still searching for my home, not a house, but a beautiful home with a soul; a home where we as a family can build many memories together.
I’m still laughing that I thought the lady beetle was carrying its baby on its back whilst Krissy rightly points out that in fact they were mating – that’s got to be good luck, right?!!
We then head to AthenaX’s Greek themed birthday party, at 1821 in the city where she asked all the girls to dress in blue and white! Athena looks stunning in her gown and Panos is always so charming to all of the girls when we see him.
Victoria very aptly gifted AthenaX a ceramic Buddha for her birthday, to assist her in her path to enlightenment. I thought it was a clever, yet thoughtful gift. I stuck with the Greek-inspired blue theme, giving AthenaX a personalised The Daily Edition Clutch in Navy Blue, monogrammed with her initials.
It was so nice seeing all the girls together again, and everybody seemed in good spirits and ready for a fabulous night. But it wasn’t long before we realised that Matty wasn’t there, and wasn’t coming, confirmed by a phone call made by Krissy and Melissa. I was annoyed, as I knew Matty would never show up for Athena’s party without her apologising first, and I can't believe Athena hadn’t reached out to her.
During the party, I could see that Lisa seemed quite upset. Lisa and Victoria talk separately at another table and Lisa confesses her marriage troubles. I was genuinely upset and saddened to see how unhappy Lisa had become and as an old friend of Lisa and David, I really hope they can work through their issues. It’s never easy dealing with these awful situations from a friend’s perspective, so I think Victoria gave Lisa her advice based on her experiences, having gone through marriage troubles and ultimately 2 divorces. I think Victoria was in the best position to offer some insight.
Happily, episode 3 ends on a real high - lots of fun Greek dancing, and the announcement of a trip with the girls to the Whitsundays. Three days of sun, sand and fun with these girls 24/7- what could possibly go wrong?
Be sure to check back tomorrow to find out what you didn't see on the show. I'll be sharing my behind the scenes photos, videos and gossip with you all.
