The Real Housewives of Sydney Season 1 Episode 7 Recap
After last week's Persian Party, we were all feeling emotionally drained and not sure whether we could take any more drama - me in particular!
The episode opens with AthenaX and Panos chatting about what went on the night before.
I was blown away by AthenaX's recount of the Persian Party. With Panos not being there, she retells the story, elaborating some details and minimising others. I was amazed that someone could manipulate the truth (on camera!) without a care in the world. My "Captain Second Hand Clothes comment becomes "At least I don't pull my clothes out of the St Vinnies De Paul bin" and the recount certainly isn't the whole truth.
I'm incredibly sad for AthenaX and the awful childhood she endured - but she really does need to learn how to deal with that pain and not let it cause her to act out towards others.
Next, we move to a meeting for Victoria's Wrinkles Schminkles Heart for a Heart event.
I love seeing the girls doing whatever they can for charity - and love that the show gives us a platform to highlight some incredibly important causes.
The event will be hosted by Victoria at Joh Bailey's Double Bay Salon. From the generously donated prizes and the people involved with the event (including Joh Bailey as MC and auctioneer), the event was sure to be a huge success!
Melissa and Krissy then head to Village on Broadway to audition some back up dancers for Melissa's upcoming tour. Melisa was totally in her element and it was so fun to watch. She has been in the industry for such a long time and her longevity has so much to do with her absolute professionalism.
I was not at all surprised when Krissy wanted to get up there with Melissa and the dancers - Krissy is the life of the party and is notorious for her FOMO! There's no way she would want to miss out on the fun!
We then move to Lisa's house and, I'm not going to lie, I'm feeling a little faint watching her with her snake wrapped around her neck - but the cocktails are a good distraction and I feel like I need a Thermomix of my own, looking at how easily she can throw a cocktail together!
Before the snake has a chance to think it's time for dinner, the girls head outside to explore Lisa's property - and what an incredible home she has! I love seeing the vast expanse of Lisa's property and land - and how much fun her boys have with all of that space.
Matty is such a good sport and between cutting wood and having a go on the flying fox, she really shows off her positive joie de vivre attitude that I love so much.

Whilst the girls test their survival skills at Lisa's house, Krissy, Victoria and I head out on Sydney Harbour aboard a beautiful cruiser. As I always say, the really is nothing in the world as beautiful as Sydney Harbour.
It was a real relief to be able to chill out with the girls and not have my guard up or feel like I had to fight to defend myself.

I understood the difficulty Victoria had in not being sure about having AthenaX at her charity/launch party based on her behaviour at the last few functions where she had completely lost all sense of control.
AthenaX had generously donated a diamond necklace weeks before and whilst it wasn't an automatic invitation, AthenaX felt that she was entitled to one. I believe, when donating to charity, one should do so out of the goodness of their heart and expect nothing in return - but I can understand why AthenaX might feel "uninvited" in this situation too.
I was cringing watching Victoria have that awkward conversation with Mike Levendi as he delivered the necklace. It really was a no-win situation as Victoria explained why AthenaX wasn't invited to the event - but I can understand both sides.
At this point, I really wish AthenaX had taken the high road as she would have had everyone's sympathy for not being invited to the event - but instead she gets on the phone and crassly discusses her generosity and gets Lisa to do her dirty work..
Lisa, in turn, promises to plot her revenge on AthenaX's behalf.
This response would be petty in any situation - but when you're plotting to sabotage someone's charity event? That is disgraceful and there is nothing justifiable about that.

We get to the event and there is a great crowd there to support the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Insitute. It's not long until Krissy informs us that there is a girl there causing trouble by shoving images of an Instagram post by AthenaX and Lisa that reads "queens don't compete with hoes" into everyone's face.
We find out that the girl in question is Lizzie Buttrose. Lizzie was not on the guest list and has attended the event uninvited. She then confronts Victoria to ask why her "friends" Lisa and AthenaX were not invited.
Despite being asked to leave, Lizzie really lived up to her reputation with her drunk and disorderly behaviour as she hung around to cause trouble.
It was such a shame that Lizzie caused such a scene during the auctioning of the Levendi piece as it really limited the price it fetched. I felt more sadness than anger watching Lizzie as she strumbled and slurred all over the place.
It really felt like a new low. Whilst we were there raising funds for a charity, AthenaX and Lisa sent a fool to cause trouble and to detract from an important and worthy cause.

Thankfully, despite Lizzie's efforts, the night is still a huge success - and we end the night on a high regrouping at Mrs Sippy Double Bay for drinks and a debrief. I don't think any of us could quite believe what had taken place at the event! It was here that Melissa also shared an exciting announcement with us all!
Invited by a designer to do a photoshoot in Singapore, Melissa very kindly extends the invitation for us all to join her! Whilst we were all concerned that Melissa was considering inviting Lisa and AthenaX, she was absolutely right that isolating them only seemed to cause more trouble.
We really needed to find a middle ground and a way to be civil to each other and maybe a new country and completely neutral territory will help... we'll just have to wait and see!
