Behind the Scenes: Our Dolce and Gabbana Carretto Siciliano Inspired Photo Shoot

Eye colour, hair colour, music ability, whether you love or hate coriander - all things that have some genetic influence. But what about shopping habits? Or taste in clothing?

In the Gazal family, it seems like it is - especially when all of the women in our family ended up with the same dresses in our wardrobe. Picked up on our travels or received as gifts, each of us have a dress from the Dolce and Gabbana Carretto Siciliano Collection - including Naya who was born well after the collection launched thanks to an incredible sale I happened to come across whilst travelling.

And because we all love a theme, we thought that those dresses would be the perfect outfits for a family photoshoot!

Inspired by Dolce and Gabbana's Spring Summer 2016 Shoot, we decided to put together a Mother's Day photoshoot that included some really special sentimental elements.

On top of our family dining table (where we've shared so many meals) was a photo of my Dad, St Rita, olive branches from our garden, our favourite flowers and champagne, old family photos, a vintage grandfather clock that has been in the family for years and more.

And, of course, our beloved dogs! They say you shouldn't work with children or animals - but we took on the challenge and they were definitely the stars of the show!

The photos were taken by the incredible Mark Morffew who has taken our family photos for many years.

Our hair was perfect by Joh Bailey. And our makeup was by Brianna.
