Five surprising lessons I’ve learnt during BonPatch’s first year in business
I can hardly believe that BonPatch is one, but what a year it has been! When I first started BonPatch, I had big dreams of changing the wellness game, but I had no idea just how much I would learn along the way.
From navigating a sea of vitamins and supplements (and the occasional hiccup!), to learning the ins and outs of packaging and distribution, to connecting with amazing people, this year has been full of surprises.
Here are five things I didn’t expect to learn during BonPatch’s first year:
1. You can teach an old market new tricks
It’s no secret that the vitamin aisle is overwhelming. Add in gummies, powders, essential oils – where does it end? I quickly realised that people were ready for a fresh and simplified approach. Enter: BonPatch Transdermal Patches, your secret weapon for bypassing hard to swallow tablets and a medicine cabinet full of bottles.
As it turns out, when you offer something as easy as a wearable patch, people are all in! It feels great to know that we have brought some excitement (and a lot less of that awful feeling of tablets being stuck in your throat!) to an old-school industry. The perfect boost when you need it!
2. A brand is only as good as its customers
I always knew that wellness was personal, but seeing BonPatch become a part of people’s daily lives has been the best part of this journey. Each day I receive emails or messages from customers who had their first good night’s sleep in years after trying our SLEEP patches, have powered through a busy workday with our VITALITY patches or are feeling calmer and clearer headed with our RELAX patches.
It’s become clear that BonPatch is not just a product, it’s a community – and I love receiving orders from first-time customers who have tried BonPatch through their friends who can’t stop talking about them.
3. Wellness doesn’t need to feel like a chore
We live busy lives – and it’s easy to forget what supplement to take at what time – or remembering to take them as you’re running out the door or already tucked into bed.
With BonPatch, I wanted you to be able to fit wellness into your life seamlessly. The fact that our patches last up to 24 hours is a total game changer. I’ve learnt that when you make wellness easy (no bottles, hassle, timers etc), people actually stick to it (no pun intended!).

4. Sometimes you have to roll with the punches (and the patches!)
Starting a business isn’t always smooth sailing – even moreso when you launch a product that most people have never heard of before. There have been moments where I’ve felt like I was flying high and others where I was covering myself in BonPatch just to get through the day. The biggest lesson? You have to stay flexible. Whether that’s tweaking packaging or pivoting when things don’t go as planned or stock doesn’t arrive in time. Adapting is the key to thriving – and a good patch helps too! 😉
5. Wellness is more than skin deep
When I first launched BonPatch, I was focused on creating a product that delivers essential nutrients through the skin – but what I’ve learned is that wellness goes so much deeper.
It's not just about the vitamins you absorb, but how you feel as a result. I’ve received so many messages from customers who say that using BonPatch has helped them build better self-care habits and feel more empowered about their health.
Sticking on a BonPatch is more than just a routine – it’s a little act of self-love, and I couldn’t be prouder of that!
Looking back, this first year has been a wild ride—full of excitement, learning, and more than a few laughs. I’m beyond grateful for the support from all our customers, and I can’t wait to keep growing (and patching!) together. Here’s to many more years of wellness that sticks!
