City Guide: London, England

Currency:
British Pound

Time Zone:
Greenwich Mean Time (UTC: +00.00) and British Summer Time (UTC: +1.00)

Best Time to Visit:
Visiting in the Spring and Summer (March-May. June-August) will mean longer days and warmer temperatures but also larger crowds. January and February are quiter times be prepared for cold weather!

London. The city we called home for so many years before return back to beautiful Sydney. - and the city Adam still lives in today! Having spent so much time in London, I consider myself somewhat of a local - and have a huge list of must visits, sees and dos for family and friends who decide to visit!

My Favourite Treats:

Pret-a-Potea at The Berkeley Hotel
A fashion themed high tea that is not only delicious but so much fun. Pret-a-portea is the perfect way to celebrate a special occasion - or for times when you want to catch up with some girlfriends. They change the menu every six months to match the latest fashion trends.

My Favourite Place to Stay:

The Berkeley Hotel
It's small enough to be quaint and cosy - but large enough to have all of the modern amenities. My favourite thing of all? The location. You can't beat it!

My Favourite Place for Coffee:

Taylor Street Baristas
I might have had coffee in dozens of different countries, but I still think Australians make the best coffee of all. Taylor Street Baristas is run by Aussies – and they also make the most incredible lamingtons!

They have multiple locations across London that are open weekdays from 7am-6pm and closed on weekends.

My Favourites by Night

Martinis at Dukes
My last night in London tradition - the best Martinis in London!

The Girls' Favourite

Kidzania at Westfield
Kidzania is a child's paradise - and the perfect place to let the kids run wild whilst you head off for some retail therapy in peace. It's designed for children aged 4-14 and children over 7 can stay unsupervised. It's one of those places that hooks them in and keeps them occupied for hours.

Be warned though... once they go once, they'll be asking for you to take them back again and again! My girls also love many of London's free museums (particularly the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Science Museum).

It all depends on what you're looking for!

Harrods is an iconic must visit, Selfridges is perfect for the hip younger crowd, Liberty is in a beautiful old building and in an area with so many things to do (be sure to look at their iconic Liberty print section) and Portobello Road is a must for trinkets, vintage pieces and souvenirs to take home.

My Favourite Lunch Spot

The Chelsea Ivy
A beautiful spot that is the perfect place for a sunny Summer's lunch.
