City Guide: Marrakesh, Morocco

Currency:
Dirham

Time Zone:
Western European Time Zone (UTC: +00.00)

Best Time to Visit:
March, April, October and November are the months that offer both more affordable accommodation rates and milder more enjoyable weather. Avoid travelling in the middle of summer (June-August) unless you like heat and crowds!

Marrakesh is one of my favourite cities in the world. Full of culture, history, food and fun, it's a destination that we never seem to tire of as there's always something new to discover.

My Favourite Treats:

Ktefa
A Moroccan dessert of crispy pastry layered into a stack with sweetened fried almonds and a custard sauce scented with orange flower water. You'll find it at most traditional restaurants - be sure to order it at least once!

My Favourite Place to Stay:

The Four Seasons
Everything at the Four Seasons Marrakech is absolutely beautiful and has an incredible local flair. From the kids club Kasbah to the rooms and lobbies that feel like an Arabian palace.

Grand Cafe de la Poste

The Girls' Favourite

Watching the Snake Charmers
The snake charmers at the entrance to the Medina are awe inspiring and captivating - the whole family won't be able to look away! This isn't something you'd ever see at home!

The Medina in general is a great place to soak up the local culture and experience what life is like in Marrakesh.

My Favourite Place to Shop

The Medina
From baskets to spices and everything in between, the Medina is your one stop shop and the perfect place to pick up some unique local trinkets.eces and souvenirs to take home.

My Favourite Lunch Spot

Al Fassia
Al Fassia is one of the restaurants we return to again and again as the atmosphere is incredible and the food is even better. Make sure you try the pigeon bstilla.

A Little Bit of Fun

Camel Ride in the Desert
A camel ride is a must do in my eyes and it's something the whole family will love. An incredible experience that also makes for great photos to take back home!

Don't Miss!

Jardin Marjorelle
One of the most popular sites in Marrakesh, Jardin Marjorelle certainly isn't an overrated tourist attraction. Walk through the garden filled with incredible trees and exotic plants - including our favourite cactus garden. A true sight to behold!
